One Colour, Many Ways: An Afternoon Watercolour Workshop

Using a still life as our point of departure, we’ll look closely at form, light, and value, allowing simplicity to guide our decisions. I’ll paint alongside the group, talking through how I build an image, make choices as I go, and respond to what’s happening on the page.

You’ll be encouraged to interpret the subject in your own way, experimenting with tone, looseness, and detail at a pace that feels right to you. Working monochromatically is a powerful way to strengthen both drawing and painting skills, helping you see structure more clearly and develop confidence through focus and simplicity. Together we will all experience how generous one colour can be!

This workshop is less about producing a polished final piece and more about experiencing what it feels like to paint in a shared studio environment. Whether you’re new to watercolour or returning to it with fresh eyes, this afternoon offers time, guidance, and space to learn through doing at The Imagination Studio.

Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike.

INVESTMENT: $60+ HST
STUDIO TIME: 11AM-12:30PM (1.5 hours)

If chilly weather is upon us, please bring slippers and a not precious sweater. THE STUDIO IS LOCATED IN AN OLD BUILDING.
