Inspiring fun and creativity, March Break Art Camp offers your kiddo 3 days of delicious art classes to fill their creative cups! In this camp, we tune into the magic of Vincent van Gogh’s famous Irises paining- perfectly seasoned to the beauty and hope of spring colours to come. This camp is a celebration of colour as we mix our way into the Van Gogh imagination of bright blue and violets, turquoise stems, earthy soil oranges and a variety of spring greens. Together we will discover the qualities that make this painting so beautiful, from movement to colour to composition. Van Gogh loved flowers. Did you know each petal in the Irises painting is completely different, featuring different shading, shape and size?

In this camp we will turn to the beautiful garden as spring is right around the corner. Working in layers, students will build upon one final art piece approaching their work using different techniques, themes and processes each day. Colour mixing, collage and brushwork will be a foundation within their van Gogh inspired artwork. Students will leave with not only a beautiful piece of art- but also a total confidence only an art class at The Imagination Studio can bring.

Did you know there are over 300 varieties of irises? The iris exists in many different colours explaining is name which is derived from the Greek word for rainbow. The most common colour is violet-blue. They can grow from a root or a bulb. Irises is one of the most expensive van Gogh paintings to sell (even more than his famous Sunflowers paintings). The painting is currently on display at thr Getty Centre in Los Angeles.

CAMP INCLUDES: Painting substrate, all materials, guided instruction and studio time. Aprons will be provided to students.

CAMP DATE: MONDAY MARCH 11-WEDNESDAY MARCH 13 (3 DAYS).
INVESTMENT: $330+ HST
STUDIO TIME: 9AM - 1PM

AGES 5-12

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DAILY:

★ a litter-less lunch + snacks

★ full large water bottle

★ slippers + a sweater are recommended for the winter studio classes

★ art friendly clothes (some paints does not wash out)

★ outdoor gear appropriate for the weather

★ a curiosity to learn
