2026 MARCH BREAK art CAMP

three days of beautiful studio art classes, to spark joy, inspire creativity and carve out time for fine art.

monday March 16, tuesday march 17 + wednesday march 18, 2026.

at the imagination studio!

Inspiring creativity and playful curiosity, March Break Art Camp offers your kiddos three days of delicious art-making designed to fill their creative cups. In the studio we will explore endangered animals and their environments through a series of printmaking and painting workshops, inviting students to look closely, experiment freely, and respond through colour, texture, and mark-making. This camp blends imagination with observation. Join us for a curiosity-led week of art classes where students encounter the unusual, the rare, and the wildly wonderful world of animals and art techniques. Endangered animals and their environments inspire creativity, spark conversation, and invite students to imagine, create, and care for the natural world. Our workshops feel like magic, when students see their prints appear on the page- layered, textured and full of life, just like the animals that inspired them.

Day 1: the Galápagos ISLANDS: Where Nature Got Experimental

On this special day of March Break Art Camp, we travel (in spirit) to the Galápagos Islands — a place often described as nature’s laboratory, where animals evolved in remarkable and unexpected ways. Students will create their own collograph of an endangered Galápagos animal while creating elements of the landscape. A day rooted in observation, imagination, and the magic of a place found nowhere else on Earth.

Day 2: The Rainforest: HIDDEN Layers of Life

Next, we step into the lush, layered world of the rainforest, where colour, pattern, and texture hide animals at every turn. Students will create monoprints using red, yellow, and blue layers, experimenting with transparency, overlapping shapes, and playful patterns. As they create, students will imagine the habitats of their chosen rainforest creatures. From slow-moving sloths to sleek jaguars, vibrant poison dart frogs, and squawking macaws, discovering how animals use camouflage, colour, and layers to survive in this incredible ecosystem. A day of colour overload, hidden surprises, and hands-on experimentation, where every print reveals a rainforest story of its own.

Day 3: Choose Your Endangered Animal Portraits

On Day 3 of March Break Art Camp, we travel the world through our art, no passport needed! Students get to choose their own endangered animal from our playful menu of creatures or from their own curiosity. From cuddly koalas and quokkas to ocean gliders, colorful reptiles, and mysterious mountain ghosts the possibilities are unlimited! If students have a book or reference photo of their favourite endangered animal they are welcome and encouraged to bring it to camp! Students will play with colour, texture, layers and mark-making to create their very own Eric Carl style endangered animal portrait. If this animal could talk, what message would they leave us? This day is all about choice, curiosity, and playful exploration. Students will create endangered animal portraits, thinking about their chosen animal as if it could speak: what message would it share with the world? Each artwork becomes a personal story, full of colour, texture, and imagination, giving students the chance to explore, experiment, and bring their animals and their voices to life.

Students will leave with not only beautiful pieces of art- but also total confidence only an art class at The Imagination Studio can bring. March Break Art Camp at The Imagination Studio carves out a special kind of creative magic for your kids.
