Mother & Daughter ART CLASS
MOTHER & DAUGHTER ART CLASS
AUTUMN WREATH-MAKING
There is something special about this time of year. The air changes, the colours deepen, and nature begins offering us the most beautiful materials to create with.
This Mother & Daughter workshop is an invitation to connect with the season through creativity, tradition, and the joy of working with our hands as artists.
For nearly a decade, I have been teaching the art of natural wreath making: a slower, more traditional approach rooted in working with the materials rather than forcing them into place. This is not about creating a perfectly arranged wreath. It is about learning to see like an artist, noticing the shape of a branch, the curve of a leaf, the texture of a piece of foliage, and allowing nature to guide the process.
The studio will be filled with the colours, textures, and fellings of autumn, adorned with freshly fallen foliage and natural treasures gathered from the landscape around us. Together, we will weave these pieces into something beautiful, creating wreaths that feel organic, personal, and connected to the season they were made in.
There is something deeply meaningful about gathering from the natural world and creating with what is around us. This tradition of collecting, weaving, and transforming nature’s offerings is something humans have done for generations. It connects us to the rhythms of the season and to a quieter, more instinctive way of making.
You are welcome to bring along special pieces you have gathered and love: a favourite leaf from a walk, foliage from your own property, or little treasures that hold a memory of autumn.
We will also experience the beautiful process of preserving leaves with beeswax. The warmth, the scent, and the transformation of these delicate pieces of nature create a moment that feels almost magical.
This workshop is an opportunity to create something beautiful together, learn a meaningful craft, and experience the magic of working with nature in a way that honours its beauty and individuality.
You will leave with a handmade wreath, but more importantly, with the memory of a shared experience and a deeper connection to your daughter and the season around you.
